Thinking Jesus

January 3, 2009

I’m not a fan of making resolutions or keeping them, for that matter, so this year I have decided to forget about resolutions and incorporate a new motto. For 2009, my motto will be to “Think Jesus”.

I will think Jesus when:

I want to procrastinate.

I’m too tired to mention Him to others or think they wouldn’t care even if I did.

I’m wasting time that I could be using for Him

my patience runs low.

I let life’s worries take over my life.

I can’t sleep.

I’m happy, sad, excited, or fearful.

When I’m faced with any and all temptations, I will think Jesus. I will think of His love for me, His devotion to all, His goal for my life, and His dedication to His church. I will think of how He cared for others, how He used His time on earth, how he resisted temptation, and how He succeeded in bringing about God’s plan of redemption.

I will think of what He did while living on this earth and what He continues to do now. I won’t think, “What would Jesus do?” I will instead think, “What did Jesus do and what does He want me to do?”

Will you join me in thinking Jesus? Remember, it won’t be very long before we will all be facing Jesus.
